  Show Wednesday May 8th @6pm** Description: Are you someone who has an off
 ice job where you do a lot of presentations? Would you love to make your t
 alks more lively? Are you looking to meet folks and be more social? Have y
 ou ever dreamed about being on a huge stage in front of hundreds of people
  making them laugh? The good news is all of you are in the same boat. You 
 want to give stand up a try\, but don’t know where to start. This class 
 is perfect for you. Learn how a joke is written and why it is funny. Feel 
 more confident in front of people. Meet new people with a love of comedy. 
 And at the end of the session you will get to perform the comedy you wrote
  in front of your friends and family. You will learn about different types
  of humor. Like observational\, crowd work\, act outs and more. You will a
 lso walk away with knowledge of how to start your journey after class and 
 what steps you need to take to book that first paid show. Not to mention a
  new network of friends to go to open mic’s with as you break into the s
 cene. Student perks include: -Free tickets to all Comedy Plex shows during
  the class session -Discounts on soft drink\, and water at the Comedy Plex
  bar -Comedy Plex Shwag -Local surrounding area discounts in various busin
 esses About your instructors: Angie McMahon is a veteran of the Chicago Im
 prov and Sketch comedy scene. She has been teaching sketch writing and sta
 nd up at the famed Second City for 11 years. She founded CIC Theater\, whe
 re she was the Executive Director and Board President for 13 years. Her co
 medy Festival “Snubfest” ran for 11 years with such amazing alumni lik
 e TJ Miller\, Cameron Espisito\, and Josh Johnson to name a few. Notable s
