**Graduation Show Saturday 3/22 at 5pm** Free to family and Friends
Description: This class is for beginners and seasoned comics looking fully flesh out their stand up bits and work on writing. Wether you just want to have some fun, or pursue a career in stand-up comedy this class is for you. Get more comfortable on stage, and in front of groups. Learn the ins and outs of joke writing, and what works for you the comedian. Learn what bookers are looking for, and how to get booked at any comedy club. Learn how to host a show, so that you are always in demand as a comedian. OR, just be the funniest person at every social gathering you're invited to. All of this culminates in a show for family, friends, and the general public on a REAL comedy club stage.

About your instructors:
Angie McMahon is a veteran of the Chicago Improv and Sketch comedy scene. She has been teaching sketch writing and stand up at the famed Second City for 11 years. She founded CIC Theater, where she was the Executive Director and Board President for 13 years. Her comedy Festival “Snubfest” ran for 11 years with such amazing alumni like TJ Miller, Cameron Espisito, and Josh Johnson to name a few. Notable sponsors of the festival included MySpace Comedy, Audible, RoofTop Comedy, Mikey O Productions, Zanies, Laugh Factory, Lincoln Lodge, and the Comedy Bar. She has performed with Nora Dunn, Julia Sweeney, Jay Mohr, Andy Kindler, Stephen Tobolowski and more. She has been seen performing stand up around the city at Laugh Factory, Zanies, Riddles, House of Blues, Red Room Comedy Club, and The Comedy Plex to name a few. She has performed in the Chicago Improv Festival, Hawaii Improv Festival, and Burbank Comedy Festival to name a few. Her TV Pilot “Contemporaries” was a finalist for the Just for Laugh Pitching event in 2003. Her and her writing partner, now emmy award winning director, Catherine Pappas got to pitch the pilot live to a room full of executives and networks at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Her internet show "Wisecrackin'", that ran for 75 episodes, has won several awards, including "Best of Chicago" by Chicago Magazine. She also lost badly on the Netflix baking competition Nailed it Holiday.
Marz Timms is an actor/comedian who plays the character Van Howard on the NETFLIX original series “EASY” seasons 1 & 2. Marz voices the character Jax in the popular Mortal Kombat video game, and is the former In-Arena Host for the Chicago Bulls where he performed for 34,000 screaming fans at home games. He headlined the Milwaukee Comedy Festival, and was recently featured in the NBC, Universal Television “Break Out Festival” at Second City in Chicago. Timms and his comedy group Pimprov are featured on the HULU tv show Chef Jeremiah Bullfrog Forks It as the show to see when traveling to Chicago.As a stand up comedian his style has been called “nerdy, yet urban.” and Marz has performed with well known comics such as Tracy Morgan, Guy Torry, Nikki Glaser, Eddie Griffin, and Louie Anderson.Marz has also shared the stage with Jordan Peele, and Keegan Michael Key of Comedy Central's Key & Peele, SNL’s Chris Redd, and Horatio Sanz,. He was an original member of Second City’s Brown Co. where he was a writer and actor. Marz has taught standup and improv from Florida to Thailand. As an actor he has performed in over 100 productions across the U.S. and got his start in Chicago at the Annoyance Theater.
