The Theodis Rodgers Organ Trio is a powerhouse jazz ensemble led by acclaimed Chicago keyboardist, composer, and official Hammond Organ Family Artist Theodis Rodgers Jr.. With a musical career spanning more than five decades, Rodgers has served as a high-profile musical director and keyboardist for an astonishing roster of legends, including Curtis Mayfield, Patti LaBelle, Sarah Vaughan, Ramsey Lewis, and Freddie Hubbard. Bringing his elite pianistic background directly to the tonewheel organ, Rodgers commands his trio alongside elite Chicago rhythm masters Michael Ross on guitar and Charles Heath on drums. Together, the trio specializes in delivering deep, infectious organ grooves that pay homage to legends like Jimmy Smith and Joey DeFrancesco while seamlessly blending traditional jazz, blues, and untraditional jazz-funk elements.
